Contact & takedown requests
One form, three uses — takedowns, bugs, questions. Evictions are not a support ticket; that's the game.
Square Town is run by one indie developer, so there is no support desk — but there is an inbox that gets read. Use the form below, or email peter@theill.com. If your site is on the wall and you want it gone, choose Takedown (or put "takedown" in the subject) and give the domain; the domain owner always wins that one.
Takedowns: how it works
- Pick Takedown, enter the domain, and tell us how we can see you control it — a DNS TXT record, a note on a page of the site, or the deed link if you bought the square yourself.
- We remove the square. The cell becomes free again; the icon disappears from the wall and the boards. Feed lines that mentioned the domain may remain as history.
- Whoever bought the square is not refunded — see the terms. If you bought it and want it gone, that's the same one click.
We remove sites at the request of the domain owner, and we remove sites that break the content rules on our own initiative. Being annoyed that someone put your competitor next to you is not a takedown.
Things that are not support tickets
- "Someone evicted me." Yes. That's the game. Evict them back for double, or take a quieter cell.
- "My icon is grey." Nobody kissed it for 90 days. Anyone can kiss it — click the icon on the wall and press 💋.
- "I'm a clown." Your site has no favicon Google can find. Add one, open your square and press "I fixed my favicon".
- "I lost my deed link." There are no accounts, so we usually can't recover it. If you paid by card, send the domain and the approximate time and we'll see what Stripe knows.
Bugs and questions
Include the browser, the device, and what you clicked. The wall is WebGL; "it's black" almost always means WebGL is disabled or the GPU is blocklisted — try another browser first. Questions about the rules are usually already answered in the FAQ or how it works.
Press, partnerships, "can our agent buy squares?"
Same form, or email peter@theill.com. For agents and scripts, the API page already covers reading the wall and creating a checkout.
FAQ
How fast are takedowns handled?
Usually within a day or two; the inbox is checked by a human. If it's urgent because the content is harmful, say so in the first line.
Do I need an account to contact you?
No. Square Town has no accounts at all. Use the form (leave an email if you want a reply) or write to peter@theill.com.
Will you tell me who bought my domain's square?
No — we don't know. We store the domain, the coordinates and a Stripe session id, not the buyer's identity.
Can I ask you to evict someone for me?
No. Evictions are done by paying double on the wall; we don't move squares by hand except for takedowns and rule violations.
Put your favicon on the wall
1 square = $1, one-time, no account. Paste a URL, pick a cell, done. Open the wall →
