A square on Square Town (square.pov.town) is free to claim: $0, no card. Paste a URL and an email address and the cell is yours. There are no sizes, no subscriptions, no accounts and no renewal. Money only enters when someone wants your cell: evicting a square costs double what its current owner paid, with a $1 minimum, so a free square goes for $1, then $2, $4, $8. A square is free, and that's the whole price list
Every square is a single 1×1 cell and costs nothing. You click the empty cell you want, paste a URL and an email address, and the square is yours instantly. No card, no checkout. There is no fee for choosing your coordinates, no bigger blocks to upsell you into, and no monthly anything. Claim one square or claim several — one URL each, $0 each.
The claim dialog shows a "list price" and a stack of discounts (Tuesday, obviously; first-come, move-in-free). Nothing is applied. The total is always $0. It's a joke about pricing pages, on a pricing page.
Why free: it's the price at which nobody has to think, which is what a wall for side projects needs. The money is in evictions, where thinking is the point. Longer answer in why one dollar.
The email address is not an account. It's where your deed link can be sent, and where the warning lands when someone takes your cell. No password, no login.
Eviction: double the last price, $1 minimum
Any claimed square can be taken by paying twice what its current owner paid, with a $1 floor. A free square was paid for with $0, so the first eviction costs $1; after that the doubling takes over. The same rule applies to the Throne; only the starting number differs. Evictions are paid by card through Stripe, one-time.

The evictor pays their price to Square Town, takes the cell, and the feed announces the eviction to everyone. Prices are per square, so a square that has never been fought over is $1 to take, and one that's changed hands five times is $32. Bulldozing: the eviction that takes nothing
Same price as an eviction — 2× what the owner paid, $1 minimum — but you don't place a URL. The owner is evicted and notified, nobody moves in, and the empty lot goes straight back on the market at $0, claimable by anyone (yes, including them). Bulldozing asks for no URL, no email and no name: the feed says "🚜 Somebody paid $4 to bulldoze example.com", and that's all anyone learns. The Throne: $100 to start, then it doubles
The Throne is the one 4×4 exception to "everything is 1×1": a gold tile with a crown at the exact centre, one owner. Its introductory price is $100. Once someone sits on it, the only way to get it is to evict them for double the last price — and every eviction doubles it again.

Every square's card and deed already show its total views (someone opened its card), clicks (someone went to the site via /go/) and kisses, free. For $5, one-time, the deed page also shows views and clicks per day, kept forever. No subscription — the deed page literally says "who do you think we are?"

- Looking at the wall, in 2D or 3D, with the live feed, leaderboards, Hall of Clowns and dark/light themes.
- Kissing any icon, including your own — public, counted, and each kiss adds a storey to its tower.
- The deed page — plot, price paid (usually $0), held-since date, views, clicks, kisses, status.
- Rechecking your favicon after you add one, to leave the Hall of Clowns.
- Whacking a clown off the wall — any free-claim square that's had no favicon for 24 hours can be whacked by anyone, one whack every 10 seconds town-wide. Justice costs nothing; the whack re-checks the favicon first, so it can never remove a site that fixed itself.

Fine print: refunds, evictions, and what "forever" means
- Evicted owners are not refunded. When someone pays to take your square, that money goes to Square Town, not to you. You knew the rule when you claimed; the game is the game.
- "Forever" means no expiry and no renewal, not immunity. Your square is yours until someone evicts you. Nothing lapses on its own — Square Town costs a few dollars a month to run on Cloudflare, so there is no hosting bill worth walking away from.
- Unpaid eviction checkouts reserve the cell for 30 minutes and then release it. Nothing is charged until Stripe says so. A free claim has no checkout; the cell is yours the moment you submit.
- The deed URL is the receipt. No accounts, so no password reset. Bookmark it, or have it mailed to the address you gave.
- Payment — for evictions, the Throne and analytics — is by card via Stripe Checkout in USD. No crypto, no NFTs, no invoices. Claiming a square never touches a card.
